Brief instruction
This range of 4 instructional videos will briefly describe to you how to create a perfect PDF document for printing.
This complete instruction gives you the necessary information, but we have omitted all background information to give you the most relevant information as quickly as possible.
Download and install
- Download here the ICC-profiles and the color settings for your system.
At the bottom of this page you will find an overview for the correct location. - Download here the Adobe presets (joboptions) for exporting PDF.

- Open Adobe Acrobat Pro and find the ‘Preflight” tool
- Go to “options”
- Choose “importing preflight profile”
- Choose the right profile from the just downloaded “preflight-profiles Adobe Acrobat” folder
- Mark the just imported profile as “favorite”
- Repeat this until you have installed all the preflight profiles

Export with Adobe InDesign to print ready PDF
- Go to the menu item “file”
- Go to “export” – the dialog box “Export” opens
- Choose in ‘Save as” the option “Adobe PDF (print)”
- Give the document a correct name and choose “Save”
- At “Preset Adobe PDF” you’ll choose one of the installed presets
- for example “Sheetfed offset on coated paper”
- now choose “Export”

Review PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Open Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Go to “Tools”, find “PrintProduction” and open “Output Preview”
- Check the right “Simulation profile”
- When the PDF is correctly created, in front of the profile name you will see “Output Intent”
- Overprint simulating is on
- The options “colored paper simulating” and “Black ink simulating“ will give a good impression
- At “separation” all print colors are visible and also spotcolors are shown
- “total coverage area” marks all elements above the necessary value

Review PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro
Verify PDF with Adobe Acrobat Preflight
- Go to “tools”, find “preflight” and select this tool
- Find the right profile, click “show all” and select the item “favorites”
- Select the right profile according to the printing technique and paper type you need
- Now choose the “Analyse and correct” button and give the document a new name. Click “Save”
- In the “results” tab an overview of all corrections will be shown
- Any mistakes have to be resolved in the InDesign document first, and after that you’ll change te previously made PDF
